Torch River Announces Drill Results on Next Three Holes at Red Bird

Posted by: AGORACOM on October 09, 2007 09:30AM

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2007) - Torch River Resources Ltd. ("Torch") (TSX VENTURE:TCR)(FRANKFURT:WNF) is pleased to announce the results of assays on the fifth, sixth and seventh diamond drill holes (DDH) from its 2007 ten diamond drill hole program on the Main Zone Western Extension at its Red Bird property in British Columbia.

The results of assays on these three diamond drill holes (#143, 144 and 145) (DDH) are as follows:

Immediately east of Big Creek, DDH 139-145 were drilled from pad 2007-1 that was located 80 m in elevation lower and 220 m SSW of pad 2007-2 (the location of DDH 146-148 which currently have assay results
pending). Molybedenite and chalcopyrite mineralization encountered in the Main Zone West Extension is related to a zone of stockwork quartz-carbonate-anhydrite-Kspar veining along a porphyritic quartz monzonite/hornfels andesite contact. The geology of the Main Zone West Extension is similar to the Main Zone mineralization located about 500m to the east. Additional drill hole collars in the vicinity of pad 2007-1 & 2 are planned for future exploration of the Main Zone West Extension.

Several diagrams of the location of the Main Zone Western Extension and the drill holes of the 2007 program can be viewed at Torch's web site at www.torchriver.ca.
