The month of May saw both Ticketmaster and StubHub maintain their hold over the ticketing market as compiled within TicketNews’s weekly power rankings of the internet’s top primary and secondary ticketing websites.

The primary ticket market was once again dominated by Ticketmaster, who held the first place ranking throughout the month with an average power score of 76.26. The site’s closet competition came from LiveNation, who held the second place ranking throughout May with an average power score of 8.84. The rest of the primary ticket top five was rounded out by Tickets.com with an average score of 7.39, TicketWeb with an average score or 1.61, and Etix with an average score of 1.31.

Dominating the secondary ticket market for the month of May was StubHub, drawing in an average power score of 21.5. However, unlike the primary market, the secondary market boasted close competition for the top spot, with TicketsNow boasting a strong month, finishing close behind StubHub with a score of 19.72. Taking the third spot for the month was TicketLiquidator with a score of 6.71, followed up by Coast to Coast with a power score of 4.69.

In the overall rankings, combining both lists, Ticketmaster once again maintained the top spot, averaging a power score of 47.52. StubHub took the second spot in the rankings with a power score of 7.58. Rounding out the monthly top five were Ticketsnow, boasting a score of 6.71, LiveNation with a 5.67, and Tickets.com with a 4.7.

TicketNews developed the exclusive Power Ranking of ticket sellers using market share information from multiple independent web traffic resources. Power Rankings are determined using a score developed by TicketNews, which estimates the amount of web traffic per ticket seller’s website. Two sources of information are combined to determine this score. One relies on unique visitors, the other relies on overall visits and is given more weight in the ranking.
