Protocall Management

Bruce Newman

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Protocall Technologies Incorporated

Mr. Newman has over 20 years of hands-on entrepreneurial experience in building successful, high-margin technology companies. In 1998, he founded Protocall Technologies Incorporated and served as the company's Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors through 2005. During this time Protocall developed and deployed the world's first on-demand delivery system for fully packaged consumer software products; structured first-time electronic distribution deals with CompUSA, TigerDirect.com and other major resellers; and secured first-time ever on-demand licensing agreements from Microsoft, Symantec, Intuit, Corel, Atari, Vivendi Universal, and many other software companies. In 2006, Mr. Newman returned to Protocall as Chief Executive Officer to lead the company's expansion into on-demand delivery of DVD movies and television content. Prior to Protocall, Mr. Newman founded a software distribution company that became one of the world's largest distributors of high-end font software products to the book publishing and professional design industries. Mr. Newman is an inventor of record on two U.S. patents in the area of electronic product delivery. He is also co-author of a book on computer typeface software for professional users. Mr. Newman resides on the North Shore of Long Island with his wife and two daughters.  

Syd Dufton

President, Protocall Technologies Incorporated

Mr. Dufton has more than 17 years of experience driving aggressive growth for highly successful consumer technology companies. He is well known in the industry for his ability to build and lead cutting edge companies from concept to millions in annual product revenue. Most recently, Mr. Dufton served as a Partner and Managing Director in City Capital Partners, a venture capital investment fund focused on innovative, young privately held technology companies. Prior to that Mr. Dufton was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Protocall, and was the catalyst behind many of the company's distribution deals and product licensing agreements including Symantec, Intuit, and Corel. Before joining Protocall, Mr. Dufton was a founder of AdvanceWork International - a first-of-its-kind mobile distance learning technology company. He was also a pioneer in the "M-Learning" space and successfully launched five industry-leading products worldwide, winning a 2002 USDLA Award for Excellence in Distance Learning. Formerly, Mr. Dufton was also a principal and Vice President of Syracuse Language Systems, where he transformed the fledgling software company into a global leader in language learning software technology. When it was sold to Cendant, Mr. Dufton became a Vice President in Cendant's SLS Division, and helped found the web-based Language Connect Institute. LCI was the first New York State-certified distance EFL course accepted for college credit and was the winner of the 1998 Milia d'Or Award for Reference and Education in Cannes, France. Cendant Software was eventually sold to Vivendi Universal, where Mr. Dufton continued in his role as Vice President. Mr. Dufton is a graduate of Gettysburg College and is a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain. He resides on the North Fork of Long Island with his wife and five children.

Aaron Knoll

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Knoll has been Protocall's Chief Architect since 1998, and has managed the system's overall development and implementation. He is a senior-level programmer with extensive experience in a broad range of computer and Internet-based programming languages. Previously, Mr. Knoll was Director of Information Systems at Protocall's Precision Type font software licensing subsidiary, where he managed the company's information systems and the implementation of an earlier version of the SoftwareToGo system. Mr. Knoll resides in the Pine Barrens region of Long Island with his wife and daughter.

Brenda Newman

Senior Vice President, Operations and Rights Management

Ms. Newman has been the Senior Vice President, Operations and Rights Management of Protocall since 1998. Ms. Newman has over 20 years of in-depth experience in the licensing, multi-channel distribution and reporting of digitally-based intellectual property. She served as COO of Protocall’s Precision Type subsidiary, where she managed day-to-day operations and oversaw the trademark, copyright and digital rights management with over 100 suppliers and approximately 18,000 individual software products. Ms. Newman also served as Executive Vice President in two computer service companies, where she managed technical operations. Ms. Newman is a graduate of SUNY Farmingdale and resides on the North Shore of Long Island with her husband.

Mary Litchhult

Vice President, Business Development

Ms. Litchhult has over 10 years of sales and business development experience in the high tech sector. Over the last three years, she has developed and overseen relationships between Protocall's technology partners, retailers and content owners, including major movie studios and independent film producers in niche markets. Protocall recruited Ms. Litchhult in 2003 to play a key role in the launch of the company's initial SoftwareToGo on-demand service into the U.S. Retail Channel. Previously she worked for Channel Partners, a national marketing and merchandising company, representing computer software and hardware manufacturers to major mass market retailers. Prior to her time at Channel Partners, she ran the sales organization for IET, an online training company focused on human resource issues in the workplace. Ms. Litchhult is a graduate of Fordham University and lives on the North Shore of Long Island with her husband and two sons.
