Hardly, you suggested that a post should be left alone unless there is curse words used.
Well if the criteria is changed to that I'll certainly abide by it.
I received emails that I should have deleted posts by the guy who titled his posts with "I'm bashing today". the content of the posts were not bashing.
So we have people telling us "you do not delete enough" and others saying you delete too much.
Yesterday was a debacle, personal attacks are not permitted.
We didn't make that rule. I admit to deleting some posts that were marginal in that area because I had deleted posts on the other side and did not want to appear biased. If it hinted of a personal attack I removed it.
You're right, there is not free speech on the forum, there is speech within the guidelines established by Agoracom.
On another forum a poster was called a "drag queen", no cursing involved, so can I assume you would let that stand in the interest of free speech?
I would delete that here as a personal attack. To let it stand would surely prompt an angry reply, and now you're off and running with people on both sides contributing to the mess.
Using your criteria of just eliminating posts with curse words just will not do it.
You can be very mean and ugly without resorting to cursing, so then it becomes discretionary depending on the forum leaders to make the call. That to me IS censorship and that is what nobody wants.
NO personal attacks makes sense and is a lot easier to apply. It's also the ONLY fair way, IMO.
Yesterday's activity is a reflection of the share price, most people are down some very serious money and it doesn't take much for the emotions to get out of hand.
If we were sitting at $1.50 the forum would be very different. I sure don't have all the answers and I welcome constructive suggestions.
And if those constructive suggestions include my being replaced, that's fine too. I'm for anything that will improve the forum.
