I suspect the above means that the files are IFW and available in soft form (digital). This would explain the conflicts, especially if this is true of all three patents. Again, the examiner doesn't need a hard copy of the files if everything contained in those files is available on his PC. The hard copy can reside in storage.

I does "remain strange" that the files were recently moved through the Record Room. There's still some "mystery" here, IMO. But my initial optimism has waned considerably (dammit).
