If China decided to go all in they could corner the gold market easily and drive up prices sky-high. I don't think its in their best interests. I think the article is dead-on. The path of least resistance is too buy up shares of thousands of small to mid-cap junior mining companies and acquire the physical gold through production and not through futures contracts. They could acquire it more stealthly that way.
