VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA- June 19, 2008 - Northern Star Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NSM) announces that at the Annual General Meeting held on June 12, 2008, the shareholders re-elected its current board of directors.

The company's re-elected board of directors consists of Michel David, president and director, Jonathan Awde, BComm, vice president of corporate finance and director, Richard Silas corporate secretary and director, Jeffrey Cocks, Whit Tehan and Lawrence Hoffman, Directors.

The Company is also very pleased that over 55% of its shareholders, representing 52,442,186 shares exercised their right to vote. It is notable that 49,178,744 shares voted in favor of the resolution to ratify/approve the director's actions during the past year, representing an approval rate of over 94%.

The company also wishes to announce further results from its diamond drill program on its wholly owned Malartic-Midway gold project located 16 kilometers west of Val-d'Or, Quebec. Val-d'Or is a world renowned gold mining district.

These results are from drilling oriented towards the discovery and identification of lower grade gold mineralization with porphyries of the Osisko-Canadian Malartic and Agnico-Eagle Goldex types.

The full drilling program was also oriented to discover and define gold mineralization structures, alteration and rock mechanics in advancement of the underground exploration and development at the Malartic-Midway gold project.

The present holes were all drilled on the Piche-Harvey portion of the project.

Results are as follows:

HOLE #      From (m)   To (m)  Core length (m)   Grade (g/t Au)  Rock Type

MH 07-116     127.0    133.0              6.0            5.395   Porphyry

- Core lengths are fairly close to true width

The diamond drill results from this far western portion of the property (Piche-Harvey section) continue to demonstrate the potential of these porphyry bodies. Combined with the results previously announced from this drill program, the potential for discovering new high grade gold mineralization in gabbros and lower grade gold mineralization in porphyries of the Osisko and Goldex types is impressive.

Diamond drilling on the project is presently underway using two drill rigs.

As well, construction of the decline (see press release February 27, 2008) is progressing on schedule.

The decline will access, explore, develop and bulk sample gold mineralized zones located northwest of the decline Portal (entrance), initially to the 450 foot level (Chabela Zone), then extend further accessing other zones located under the old townsite of Halet at the 750 foot level. The gold bearing zones are all located in gabbro and porphyry bodies indicated by surface drill programs.

The main contractor of the decline construction is Dumas Ltd. The consulting engineering firm is Genivar Ltd.

A progress report will be available shortly.

Claude P. Larouche, Geol. Ing. (OIQ) acts as the qualified person of the Company and has reviewed the contents of the news release.
