The Company is engaged in the business of acquiring, exploring, and if warranted, developing mining properties and placing such properties into production. The Company currently holds resource properties in the United States and Canada and intends to seek and acquire additional properties worthy of exploration and development.
The Company’s focus over the next two years will concentrate on advancing their Nevada precious base metal projects situated on the Cortez and Battle Mountain gold trends. In over two years Molycor has assembled a large land package on six Nevada properties that contain mineralized showings and one property has had production from two open-pit gold heap leach operations. Mapping, trenching and geochemical surveys (2006) have identified anomalous drill targets which have been explored by drilling in 2007.
Exploration in 2007 has been geared toward mapping and sampling on the range front and surrounding pediment where alluvium may be covering receptive host rocks potentially hosting Carlin-type mineralization similar to Barrick’s +2 million ounce Archimedes gold deposit located 12 miles to the northwest.
The Empress molybdenum prospect outcrops on the crest of a broad west-trending ridge separating the headwaters of Empress Creek to the northwest from Shinnish Creek to the south. The Empress prospect covers a 730 X 360 meter area (elongated north-south) and consists of widespread, low-grade molybdenum (and copper-gold) bearing sulphide mineralization hosted in Middle Jurassic age, porphyritic biotite-hornblende quartz monzonite of the Osprey Lake Batholith. The Empress occurrence is classified as a Mo (Cu-Au) porphyry characterized by disseminated, fracture filling and quartz vein sulphide mineralization.
Molycor recently announced the discovery of high grade manganese grading 35.2% Mn over 15 feet (4.60 meters)in hole # TM-07-003 during the Phase I drilling program carried out on the Tami-Mosi Gold property located 6.5 miles south of Ely, Nevada.
