NEWS - Molycor Gold Corp. Closes Private Placement With Sextant Strategic Hybrid Hedge Resource Fund

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - Molycor Gold Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:MOR)(PINK SHEETS:MLYFF)(FRANKFURT:M1V) is pleased to announce that, further to its news release dated February 28, 2008 the Company has completed its non-brokered private placement of up to 5,555,555 units ("Units") of the Company at a price of $0.18 per Unit for aggregate proceeds of $1,000,000.

Each Unit consists of one common share (a "Share") and one common share purchase warrant (a "Warrant"). Each Warrant entitles the holder to purchase one share for a period of two years at an exercise price of $0.22 per share.

In addition, the Company has paid to the finder a fee of $100,000 in cash equal to 10% of the aggregate proceeds from the private placement.

The total of shares and warrants issued pursuant to the private placement are subject to a hold period expiring August 16, 2008.

The proceeds of the Private Placement will be used for general working capital and exploration on the Company's manganese and gold properties in Nevada.
