LBSU does have claims bordering on Northern Dynasty's Pebble project. So does Full Metal Minerals. The claims do not overlap. Check these maps surrounding Pebble's claim for each:
Full Metal Minerals:

Liberty Star (LBSU):

Now while Full Metal might appear to have the better adjacent claim to Pebble, as it more closely borders the Pebble claim, the geology suggests that Liberty Star's claim could be better than Full Metals' claim. Reason being, the most heavily mineralized area of Pebble appears to be in a crescent shape, which could be part of a circular "caldera" geologic formation. If so, then Liberty Star has claim to most of the rest of the "circle", hence there's believed to be potential for attractive gold/copper/moly mineralization, as has been discovered by Northern Dynasty at Pebble.
Look at the above-linked maps, especially Full Metal's map showing the mineralized area of Pebble. Then imagine how the "crescent" might be extended into a full circle, and then look at Liberty Star's map. About 2/3rds of the rest of that "circle" appears to be within LBSU's claim. And that's why Liberty Star feels it has a possible "winner" there.
Of course for the moment, the value is in the uranium side of the exploration. The Alaska gold mine potential (Big Chunk and Bonanza Hills) are essentially a "bonus" to the Arizona uranium exploration. But what a "bonus" they could turn out to be.
