Your analysis of a one quarter delay is a good one. There are two types of companies that rush to market: big ones that can do it (Microsoft is a good example) because upgrades and revisions don't bother them and weak ones because they need to generate revenue ASAP. Although Lantis is not the former this action shows they are not the later. They appear to be a well run company that has the necessary funding to do things for the long term.
