Similar Technology?

In response to: Re: had a dentist appt Satu... by tomthumb

I was very excited when I heard about Lantis Laser and the OCT technology. I may still invest in this company some time soon, but I have a concern. A friend of mine told me that his dentist has a device that:

1) Uses light to examine the teeth and he doesn't get x-ray's anymore

2) That the image is available on a TV screen instantaneously, just like the proposed Lantis device.

3) Not much is happening by way of shares trading hands, etc.

Is there a product out there that is similar that doesn't use OCT technology, but something similar, or is my friend nuts? I just don't want to jump in to something only to find out that they have something similar to this device from China that is available for $499.95. . .

My other question is why would a company with so much upside potential only trade 1.5K shares today?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
