Hinterland Metals Inc. > Message
This is a significant find consequently I did some research to judge the overall impact this news would have when it came out. The information I found reflects that in nature, pure platinum is unknown. Usually it is alloyed with other metals, like iron, copper, gold, nickel, iridium, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium and osmium.
These metals presence with platinum tends to lower the density of platinum. Iron presence leads to a slight magnetism in platinum nuggets and is a common enough property to be considered diagnostic. With the work done thus far by my estimation this find puts Hinterland in the zone and stepping out from these holes should lead to more areas of interest. Since they are on the ?Archean Bell River Complex? I guess that the only thing they have not come across yet is an ancient placer deposit since platinum is usually found in some form with the above metals in placer deposits. The best likely indicators are all there, but will this be enough to step up the discovery phase and keep this project moving along to the next phases?
