For the first time, Alberta's oil-and-gas sector is lusting over what it sees on the other side of the eastern provincial fence -- Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall, the young, business-friendly dynamo who last month busted 16 years of provincial NDP rule.
Mr. Wall, leader of the right-of-centre Saskatchewan Party, could turn out to be Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach's biggest rival by proving that oil-friendly policies are more effective at boosting provincial revenue than demanding a bigger government cut.
