The U.S. District Court Judge hearing AeroMechanical's motion to dismiss Star Navigation's patent infringement action in California delayed a scheduled hearing on the issue from June 20th to Aug 22, 2008, with further briefs requested.
AMA has asked for the dismissal of this suit to try and minimize the time, effort and expense required to defend an action which AMA and its legal counsel consider to be frivolous and invalid.
AMA owns a patent for technologies covering proven products being used by its clients around the world and it is adamant it will not be deterred by what it deems to be groundless accusations.
Additionally, AMA has filed a counter suit in Canada against Star for $15,000,000 as a result of these alleged frivolous actions and interference with AMA’s business.
