This might be old school but the best advice I ever got was from a proven successful investor with tons of wisdom gained in precious metals with decades experience. With regards to spousal disclosure he said it was imperative to " never let them see you sweat"  when your down but optimistic for the future

Too many  poor decisions are made when your down big on paper and you can't help yourself but to share your angst. At the end of the day most of us are wired to only want to hear good news.
